During my ride i will be raising money for Combat Stress.

Combat Stress is the only registered charity in Britain to provide specialist help and care to ex-service personnel who are suffering from psychological disabilities such as PTSD, depression and attempted suicide as a result of their service. Since 1982 more ex-service personnel who served in the Falklands have committed suicide than were killed in the war itself. Tragically, this incredible statistic does not sit alone: it is believed that as many as twenty servicemen have committed suicide following their time in Iraq, and there have been 107 post war suicides since the first Gulf War.

Whilst the worlds of media and politics clash on a daily basis, British Servicemen and women continue to carry out their duties without question or hesitation. The shocking sights flashed across our television screens bring home a microscopic glimpse of the horrendous conditions which our troops have to endure incessantly, along side the almost relentless bombings and suicide attacks.

Provision of mental care – through nationwide Welfare Operations & Treatment centers – costs Combat Stress £5.8 million per year. The charity is currently helping over 8,000 veterans, and in the last year alone received 939 new referrals.

Through my 3 year expedition i hope to raise £1 Million for Combat Stress. This is of course no easy feat and isn’t possible without the help of you guys. If you can spare just £1 or £2 it will make all the difference to our veterans. You can make your donation below.
